Using one mean Z test to test whether or not to support the claim.

The stats teacher believes the actual average amount of time students in the district study at home per week is lower than the publicized 6 hours. He conducts a hypothesis test and finds the following: = 5.65, σX = 1, n = 25. Is there evidence that the average hours is below 6? Explain.

a)  There is fairly strong evidence that µX < 6, a p-value of 0.04 is fairly small.

b)  There is little evidence that µX < 6, a p-value of 0.04 is fairly large.

c)  There is fairly strong evidence that µX < 6, a p-value of 0.08 is fairly small.

d)  There is weak evidence that µX < 6, a p-value of 0.08 is fairly large.
