Within organisations, a number of policies and procedures are used to try to govern ethical behaviour; these processes can make demands on us not only as employees and managers, but also as consumers, citizens, and family members. As Critchley (2007) has demonstrated, such ethical expectations can influence not just our motivations and acts, but also our sense of moral selfhood.
