Working as a dental assistant there are many different resources that we depend on as a company. The company depends on its employees and product manufacturers because without these the office can't run and patients cannot be treated. Without patients to treat, there is no need for a dental office, therefore patients are absolutely necessary. Among these resources are advertisement, dental equipment (chairs, radiograph technology, first aid medicine, etc. The materials and equipment are turned into output by providing services for patients. Taking x-rays, doing restorative work, such as crowns and fillings use the materials that are purchased and even the dental software creates an output by tracking data and reminding patients of their appointments. These services create better health and even serve as an educational tool for a lot of patients.

The ability to treat patients efficiently, productively, and with the highest end of care; the outputs; are directly related to the inputs. The materials that are purchased, the staff that is hired, the number of hours worked and the technology that is purchased and used all create a better service for the patients, creating better outputs.

In any medical field, I find that it is of the utmost importance to get a team that works well together, communicates well, and has common respect for the establishment in which they are employed. In my current work atmosphere, we all have very similar ideals, goals, and we all work very well together. This creates a comfortable, happy environment for our patients. This is especially important considering the number of people with dental anxiety, feeling comfortable is a priority.
