CH8405 Advanced Techniques in Biophysical Chemistry
Question 1: decide which experimental techniques are most appropriate for solving problems in biological chemistry;
Question 2: understand how chemical, physical and biological techniques can be combined to address complex problems;
Question 3: understand how biophysical techniques are used to study interactions between biomacromolecules, and between small molecules and biomacromolecules;
Question 4: decide which (bio)physical techniques are appropriate for the study of interactions.
Question 5: interpret the results of biophysical interaction studies;
Question 6: discuss previous knowledge of photo-chemistry in a biological context;
Question 7: understand how to use NMR and X-ray crystallography to get structural information for protein-protein interactions and protein-small molecule interactions;
Question 8: have an insight in enzyme catalytic mechanisms based on enzyme structure.
