''Unconscious bias plays a role in everyday life. There were seven biases that were listed. The strategy that I actively practice is self-reflection on personal bias. This requires an intentional approach from me. I must be open to different views and various approaches. So, I am not judging unfairly. An approach that I would have liked to see implemented at my facility is meaningful diversity training. This will create some cultural competence in the workplace. Which can avoid some conflict and create a more conscious healthcare professional to assist the patient in making more informed decisions that will produce better health outcomes.''
