Senco Products produces fastening products. Senco has two mixed-mode production lines that run two eight-hour shifts per day (with 480 minutes of working time per shift per production line), for six days per week. The lines produces Nail Guns (N), Screw Guns (S), Staplers (P), and Crimpers (C). The weekly demand rates are 1200 N, 1800 S, 2100 P and 300 C. If the same mixed-model JIT scheduling (and TAKT time) is used in both production lines, calculate the TAKT time, in seconds, of the assembly line. How many units of each model will be produced before the production cycle is repeated? For one such production cycle, determine a satisfactory JIT production sequence of models.

Suppose one Senco production line makes Nail Guns (N) and Screw Guns (S), while the other makes Screw Guns (S), Staplers (P), and Crimpers (C), with both lines operating for the same duration per day. Assuming both lines use the same TAKT time as in question 2, for each line, determine how many units of each product will be produced before the production cycle is repeated and specify a satisfactory JIT production sequence of models. Suppose there are two-types of Screw Guns, SB and SE, representing a battery powered product versus an electric product. About 1/5th (20%) of the Screw Guns are battery (SB), the rest are SE. Both lines produce SB and SE products in a mixed-model mode. How does the presence of the two Screw Gun models, affect the above JIT production sequences? [Specify the JIT production sequence for each line.]
