Problem 1: Air is passed above an Arnold cell containing liquid toluene. The temperature is 298 K and the total system pressure of the gas headspace is a constant 1.01 * 104 Pa. the cell has a cross sectional area of 0.8 cm2, a height of 13 cm, and a liquid depth of 3cm. Using diffusivity data given in Appendix J of W3R, plot the molar flux (mol m2 s-1) and the liquid toluene level (cm) vs. time (hr-1). How long does it take for the toluene to be depleted? At 298 K, the vapor pressure and the specific gravity of toluene are 28.4 mm Hg and 0.866, respectively.
