Goal: To experience and evaluate professional sales pitches.

Task: Talk to three different salespeople as if you are a potential buyer. You do not need to buy anything for this assignment, but you should approach the salesperson as if you were a real buyer. Listen to their pitch, ask questions that you have and see how they react. You will need to hear 3 different pitches from 3 different salespeople.

Write about your experience and include the following:

Where did you go (don't include the salesperson's name)

What product did you ask about

Evaluate the sales pitch

Was the pitch well thought out

Was it missing any parts

What worked in the pitch

What could be improved

What was your reaction to the pitch? How convincing was it?

This has to be a real pitch, not just stopping a sales associate at Walmart to ask where the toothbrushes are. Some potential salespeople car dealerships, gyms, and insurance agents (yes they still exist). There are many more, but they usually sell big ticket items.

Grading: Your paper will be graded on your ability to demonstrate what the experience was like and evaluate the sales pitch using the knowledge we have been working on throughout the semester.
