I'd like you to think about your expectations as a consumer. We spent a lot of time looking at contracts and how they're created. We looked at what is and what is not contractual. For example, a salesman's puffing is not legally binding. In turn, advertisements are meant to bring people into stores but are typically not specific enough in their wording to be contractual. Reflect upon a time you've dealt with a salesperson that made promises that proved false. Did you buy a car, a stereo, anything off of someone who swore it was too good to be true? Or, think about an advertisement that was so good it convinced you to visit a store or buy a specific product. In either case, were your expectations met? How so or how not? Were you ever skeptical? How was the salesperson or advertisement effective?
