1. What are the target demographics in your marketing strategies? Where do you see overlap between your two different types of properties? Where are the major differences? Why do you think these differences exist? The target market in our marketing strategy would be the younger community. We want to ensure to provide a relaxing yet sociable and fun environment for the the young adult ages 25 and up. We want to engage with them and make sure we create the social type of life they are looking for while on vacation. The B&B would be for our more romantic couples such as newly engaged or married. The hotel will have more activities to engage with as well as a clubhouse beach side. The differences between the two come in as the B&B is meant to relax our guests and the hotel gives them a place to stay but also provides different activities so they don’t have to leave the hotel. 2. Considering product, price, placement, and promotion, what marketing techniques have you used or would you use to generate more traffic for: 1. Your B&B? We would focus on building a relationship with the customer as this is a more intimate setting that allows us to get to know the customer and their interests. This allows us to find out what types of things our customers like and dislike. 2. Your hotel? For the hotel we want to have a diverse customer base so we would look to do a mass marketing as well as viral/social marketing. Social media is a big market for the younger community and we can promote the activities (parties) on social media. The hotel is located beach-side and that in itself would be a huge market for the younger community. So that and they fact that theres a party involved, business should be booming. 3. How do you think your marketing efforts may impact your business? I think my marketing will allow my customers to see that we cater to a diverse environment and we are interested in creating an experience that they would want to spread to their friends. Each location will have separate social medias and clubs for the customers to join and mailing list to stay in the know. I would want my customers to have the experience of a life time. this is what one person said CONGRATULATIONS! Two more years have passed. Both B&B locations are successful, and you have started a hotel franchise. So far, you only have one hotel location, but the potential for expansion is strong! Your success has caught the eye of a business reporter who wants to conduct an interview and has asked you to answer the following questions for the article: What are the target demographics in your marketing strategies? Where do you see overlap between your two different types of properties? Where are the major differences? Why do you think these differences exist? My target demographics for the B&B would be for the Baby Boomers such as myself, the traveling Business person and those millenniums that have what I call an “old soul”. Of course everyone would be welcome but we would cater to the above mentioned. The overlapping that I see is in the cliental. The Hotel is larger and family oriented, I have something for everyone. The activities such as a lazy river, a wading pool, Water Park, as well as a playground, along with a poolside bar, ice cream stand, weight room, sauna, on site restaurant and souvenir shop. The B&B is more laid back, and a lot smaller. Children are welcome but the amenities do not cater to them. There is no playground, game room, wading pool, or Water Park. The activities and atmosphere are for the old and mature. At the B&B you will receive a more personal catering to. If you stay here on business the last thing you would want while you are trying to work or rest is children playing and a baby crying. That being the case guest with children stays in the front of the building in the event we book both at the same time. The major difference is the size difference of each facility. The Hotel is larger and can accommodate more people and amenities. The B&B is smaller and more personable. Considering product, price, placement, and promotion, what marketing techniques have you used or would you use to generate more traffic for: Your B&B? Your hotel? Taking in consideration the above mentioned, for the B&B I would use social media, as well as mailings. Some Baby Boomers still like getting info in the mail. I would mail out brochures with discount coupons in them. I have and will continue to use as mentioned in Understanding Business - Part 5 Marketing: Developing and Implementing Customer-Oriented Marketing Plans, pp 342, Niche Marketing for my B&B. Our accommodations are not as big as the Hotel so it allows us to be more personable with our cliental. For the Hotel I would also of course use social media, and as mentioned in Understanding Business - Part 5 Marketing: Developing and Implementing Customer-Oriented Marketing Plans, pp 343, Mass Marketing. I want to reach as many people as I possibly can in all demographics. 3. How do you think your marketing efforts may impact your business? I think my marketing efforts will pay off. If not then I will resort to hiring a Marketing Research Manager to help me re-strategize my marketing efforts. I am not going to do anything that I don’t think will make me a profit. I am looking forward to opening new locations of both real soon. can use other words.
