Question:- The preparation of a pamphlet setting out the requirements for the formation of a contract under Australian law.

The purpose of this assessment is to assess students' ability to interpret legal rules and translate them into common language and give students a snapshot of the requirements for the formation of a simple contract which can be used as a reference point for Assessment 4 Presentation (Moot Court).

DETAILS

Legal Pamphlet - based on formation of a contract (Intention, Agreement, Consideration)

To form a simple contract under Australian contract law, three (3) elements are required:

Intention to create legal relations

Agreement

Consideration

Prepare an A4 sized pamphlet of setting out the requirements for the formation of a contract under Australian law.

On your pamphlet, you are to include:

The legal rules/principles for each element;

An explanation of relevant precedent cases for each element.

Instructions

  • The pamphlet is not to be hand written but must be presented professionally
  • The pamphlet must be three pages in length:
  • Students can use a wide range of appropriate graphics to make the pamphlet appealing
  • Cases must be cited correctly and the decision (precedent) explained
  • Students must use appropriate sized font.

Assessment Criteria

  • Clarity of interpretation and explanation
  • Ability to interpret legal rules and translate into common language
  • Presenting key facts and process in a clear and understandable way, that can be followed
  • Inclusion of all the elements/formatting and presentation/literature & research
