The normal curve is the shape that represents how variables are distributed, and it has some very interesting characteristics:
a) the mean, the median, and the mode are all the same value;
b) it is symmetrical about its midpoint, which means that the left and right halves of the curve are mirror images; and
c) the tails of the curve get closer and closer to the X-axis but never touch it-the curve is asymptotic (Salkind, 2012). In fact, many inferential statistics are based on the assumption that the population distribution of variables from which samples are selected is normal in shape. From a practical standpoint, how likely is a healthcare professional conducting an informal study or program evaluation at their organization to achieve a "normal distribution curve"?
Four out of five doctors prefer Fred's Aspirin." Thinking about sampling and exhaustive categories, what is wrong with this statement? Can you think of other, similarly misleading statements?

Explain the difference between standard deviation and standard error of measurement. Is one more effective than the other? Why? Give an example of the appropriate use of each
Explain why there are no individual differences in the numerator and in the denominator of the F ratio.
A customer service center has customers call with questions about the use of a product. The mean arrival rate of customer calls is 20 per hour and follows a Poisson distribution. The mean service rate (how long it takes the call center employee to an..

The access code for a car's security system consists of Five digits. The first digit cannot be zero and the last digit must be odd. How many different codes are available?
Calculate the ARL and look at the chart to see if the number looks about right. Use the time information in the raw data and your ARL value to calculate how many minutes between a false alarm. Will the operators be happy with this?
Calculate the mean and standard deviation and Based on these statistics, describe how these anthropometric data compare to the US male and Chinese female populations.
Determine the stream function and plot the streamlines and Discretise the expression for the second derivative using the finite difference approach
To answer the question as to whether or not there is a difference in time to progression, a Chi square statistic is computed. The critical value for rejection of the null hypothesis is 3.84. The computed Chi square is 0.335.
