The All Hazards Training Center at the University of Findlay (in beautiful Findlay, OH) has 9 trainers available. Of those trainers, six travel to facilities to perform on-site trainings as contracted by companies across the country. The other three only perform trainings at the AHTC facility in OH. Each traveling trainer can effectively perform trainings for 850 students per year. Each of the Findlay-based trainers can effectively handle 550 students per year at the Findlay facility. The facilities in Findlay can currently accommodate approximately 2000 students per year. This year, 4722 students were trained abroad, and 1860 students were trained at the facility in NC. a. What are the: design capacity, effective capacity, utilization, efficiency, and actual output of the training facility in OH?
b. What are the effective capacity and efficiency of the traveling trainers (as a group)?
c. If we assume that the same number of students are trained next year (traveling and at the AHTC), but all trainings were to be performed at the facility in OH:
1. How much additional capacity would need to be added to the facility?
2. If we assume an efficiency of 92% for the newly-distributed trainers at the AHTC, how many trainers would be required to accommodate all students at the facility?
