You have just been named the director of casino operations on the cruise ship Manana. You are considering the current state of the casino's operations:

  • The casino is the largest in the fleet by square feet.
  • The casino has the most slot machines of any member of the casino fleet.
  • The casino patrons love that the casino is open for 24 hours a day while at sea.
  • The casino has been named Casino of the Year by a cruising trade publication.


However, all things are not good in the casino:

  • Your director is complaining about the facility and labor costs needed to keep the casino running.
  • Your captain is worried about the 24-hour service and how it affects the other guests on the cruise.
  • Your food and beverage department service within the casino is not profitable, and you have had bad reviews on the Internet.
  • Your guests do not like the small number of live card tables.


Create a competitive analysis on what is common in most cruise ship casinos, and support your answer by citing a Web page that you found describing other cruise ship casinos.
