A suspension bridge cable of span 100 m and central dip 10 m is suspended from the same level at two towers. The bridge cable is stiffened by a three hinged stiffening girder which carries two concentrated loads of 30 kN each at points 20 m from both the ends. Draw the Bending Moment and Shear Force diagrams for the girder and calculate the maximum tension in the cable.
