Testing the bounds of natural fibres
The purpose of this experiment is to find out which fabric out of polyester, polypropylene, cotton and wool is the most suitable to make a sling back chair. Polyester is a synthetic fibre (manmade fibres that come from chemical resources). Polyester is water resistant and flame resistant. It can be used for clothes like pants, skirts, tops, shirt and suits. Polypropylene is also a synthetic fibre it is water proof and is a light weight material. It is a non-toxic fabric; this means it doesn't get stained easily. Cotton is a natural fibre and is found on a plant called cotton flowers. There are many properties of cotton a few of them are it is soft, strong and durable and versatile. Wool is a natural fibre obtained from sheep and certain other animals. The properties of wool are it absorbs moisture, wool does not wrinkle easily.
A reaction vessel contains 13.9g of CO and 13.9g of O2. How many grams of CO2 could be produced according to the following reaction. 2CO + O2 ---> 2CO2
Briefly describe experiments and expected outcomes to differentiate whether this inhibitor is a competitive inhibitor or a mixed inhibitor.
The high-field:low-field integration ration is 2:1. Deduce the structure of the organic hald and explain the NMR signals. I'm thinking it's 1,1-dichloropropane.
At 295 K, Keq = 7.0 x 10-2 for the following equilibrium: NH4HS(s) = NH3(g) + H2S(g) What is the equilibrium partial pressure (in atm) of H2S
The concentrations of NaCl and KI are at 0.100 M and 0.090 M, respectively, in the following electrochemical cell:You'll need to use the Nernst equation to solve this problem
acids how many have (i) more than one chiral center, (ii) an acidic side-chain, (iii) a sulfur atom in the side-chain?
spontaneous chemical reactions produce products which are more energetically stable than the reactants which form them. A strong acid reacts with a strong base to produce water and the free ions of a salt.
In air and according to Stokes Law, the settling rate of particles is proprotional to the squares of their diameters, if they have the same densities
Identify the reaction as precipitation, acid-base, oxidation-reduction and/or gas forming. What is the concentration of the unknown solution
Potassium hydroxide and phosphoric acid react to form potassium phosphate and water according to the equation. 3KOH(aq)+H3PO4(aq)---->K3PO4(aq)+3H2O(l)
What is the molar concentration of Na+ ions in 0.035 M solutions of the following sodium salts in water
At a given temperature, 1.18 atm of F2 and 5.91 atm of Br2 are mixed and allowed to come to equilibrium. The equilibrium pressure of BrF is found to be 1.044 atm. Calculate Kp for the reaction at this temperature. F2(g) + Br2(g) 2 BrF(g)
