A collection of all the test scores for a standardized, post-secondary examination administered in the 1970's across countries along the West African coast, is well-modeled as a random variable X ∼ N (μ, σ2) with μ = 270 and σ = 26. If a score of 300 or higher is required for a "pass- with-distinction" grade, and a score between 260 and 300 is required for a "merit-pass" grade, what percentage of students will receive the "distinction" grade and what percentage will receive the "merit" grade?
