First, I arrange the tasks as per the urgency and consequence. Then, I compare these two parameters for each task and proceed with the most urgent and/or most important task(s). Spending all the time on the most important work would be inefficient because the opportunity cost of that would be foregoing all the other tasks which provide varying levels of happiness to me as a person.
