Briefly restate your situation from Module 1 and your role.
I have selected Schaeffler Group USA Inc., the company has four plants located in South Carolina and multiple plants across North America and several other countries. I have been employed with Schaeffler off and on for over 8 years. My current role within the organization is titled as a Shopfloor Controller. I monitor and control the budget and tooling inventory for my department and several other departments. I also order replacement tooling and supplies for the department. During this role, I am also responsible for all the new tooling projects that occur within the department.
The situation that I have chosen would be the lack of hiring and maintaining employees since the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the pandemic, we were fully staffed with over 1,200 employees. During the pandemic, we had to have multiple shutdowns due to the virus spreading throughout the departments. As a result of the shutdowns and not receiving income along the way, we have lost around 400 employees. We are always hiring but for some reason, the employees get their first check or two and eventually quit coming to work.
