This project was an extension of an earlier study of the characteristics of gang and non-gang Assault in Los Angeles. This study mainly investigating the relationship between occurrences of an offense called 'Assault' and certain indicators, such as various Terminology/Behavioral indicators and various Physical Evidences of gangsters.
The dataset includes 273 observations and 13 variables, where all the variables are measured on nominal level. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. It was found from the result that the relationship between Assault and the terminology / behavior indicator 'Blood' is statistically significant.
It can also be observed that among all those incidents indentified to be 'Assault', 4.7% were found to be a gangbanging showing blood as the physical indicator of their gang. Hence, it is suggested that by considering this indicator (blood), the police officials can identify the offenders who involved in Assault, which in turn may reduce the occurrence of such crime in future
