Purpose For this task, students use the operational information collected from the client and the stakeholders for the event as well as the venue and create a catering proposal that meets the clients catering requirements. Role and participants Event coordinator The role of the event coordinator is to plan and prepare catering proposals and operational plans that meet the client's needs and preferences. The event coordinator is responsible to ensure that the event runs smoothly and efficiently following pre-planned activities. They must communicate with the front of house and the kitchen when preparing for an event. Tasks to be performed Create catering proposal. The proposal must be stylish and present the information gathered from the client meeting including:

• Available event information

• Catering plan timeline

• Catering menu

• Catering theme

• Price information (you will need to calculate the costing per dish and add mark up to ensure that the dish will be profitable - see costings template "Standard Recipe Card template"

• Plan of action

• Business details and contact details. You can use the template provided to complete the information, but you will need to present the information in an attractive way.

Tip: Remember the client is spending a lot of money on catering and they should feel that they are receiving something great by looking at the proposal. Pictures are a great way to promote the event.
