Two benefits between the Civil War and WWI were Big Government (Regulation of Markets) & stronger manufacturing with the introduction of steel. Some downfalls included the trust issues many people had with banks; Poor wages until the Unions and the progressive movement became established and fought for worker rights circa 1910. Big government was breaking up the necessary issues in the market due to our boom in manufacturing. Manufacturing exploded our economy GDP. Unions and progressives fought for worker rights and shorter work days; pre-unions 12+ workdays were average for minimal pay. Many young individuals did not trust the banks to hold their cash, prior to the stricter regulation (wildcat banks). Overall, manufacturing was important for the U.S. to become well established in all parts of the world; comfort goods like the Model T helped further the economy as an entirety.

The two benefits of the industrialization between the Civil War and the World War I were the huge growths in the number of production, the using of machines, and the invention of the electricity by Edison and Tesla. The Two bad problems were the pollution in the air created by the new manufacturing and the unsafety of the workers. People were not prepared to work with the new machines and still don’t fully understand how to work with them. Overall, the advantages of the industrialization were worth the risks, and it was important to move forward to create the great nation of the United States.
