Strategy to Change Current Employee Behavior
As we work with our employees, we want to ensure the proper change in behavior will be a constructive impact on the company. This type of improvement will be accomplished through practical consideration of aspects of diversity. Currently, the surface level of diversity has a high variation. The reason for this diversity is that the current employees are from various age groups and ethnicities, as well as different education and levels of work experience. To positively alter current employee behavior, the problems that affect the employees and the company need to be identified and addressed. The responsibility of the company is to discuss what negatively impacts efficiency. One way to try to find improvement with the employees could be by talking to Anam Basra about improving her openness and by also being open with fellow employees and managers.
Diversity plays an essential role in improving organizational behavior. NoJax's current policy of employees not alternating through positions and changing teams should be reassessed and inspire their employees to shift teams and interact with other employees. Different races and cultures should contribute ideas, which in turn could improve productivity. Also, NoJax should restructure the way management makes decisions and allow the department managers to make decisions that would affect their employees within particular departments. The company would benefit from eliminating the rigidity that is presently affecting the company. It would also be helpful if leadership switched to department level and the cycle of departments could occur. In order to ensure the successful integration of employees, management should change the hiring process where the prospective employee must go through different levels of management during the process. Considering this type of interview process is time-consuming for all parties involved, the company must consider a new hiring process.
Big-Five personality traits and the effect on Organizations
The use of the Big-Five personality traits is a critical tool for creating the culture of an organization. If management has positive qualities, the employees will follow and pick up on those traits; if a manager is an outgoing person, the employee may be more likely to show extraversion as well. Regardless of personal characteristics, an employee will adapt to their surroundings. It is evident that these personality traits, such as conscientiousness, emotional stability, agreeableness, extraversion, and openness, are vital in building a positive organizational culture.
Organizational culture can be modified and can improve interactions between the employees and management. The most effective way to modify the culture positively in the organization is to emphasize the demand for positive personality attributes. The organization should learn to welcome various attributes as people are different. This modification can be accomplished if the individual does not deter productivity and growth for the organization. The organization's culture will progress if diversity is embraced.
One way to successfully continue positive relationships in the company is to encourage extraversion, in turn, could generate positive relationships and more communication between employees and managers. Also, I would advise that NoJax consider team building events, which would help in reducing rigidity between departments and get their employees open to other ideas and more socialized. A hard-working environment is difficult for employees and managers as it creates obstacles to openness, which in turn could put a hindrance on creativity. Having this type of situation can affect the company as employees may feel unmotivated and isolated with no management backing. The best way to maintain having a positive relationship is to participate in team-building events as a company.
