Question: Throughout the course, you will need to identify various technology trends and sources of data that will help you understand those things impacting your CLC's company. Sources may include the following: "Strategy Club," GCU Library, government sites, white papers, etc. Of the sources that you have identified, which sources do you believe would be most useful and why, as it applies to the strategic case analysis and recommendations for strategic plan development?
After taking a look at all of the different resources in this class in addition to external resources, I would say one of the most beneficial will be the Strategy Club. This tool was designed to help students like me learn "the latest concepts, tools, and techniques that companies and organizations globally are using to formulate, implement, and evaluate strategies" (Strategy Club, 2021). As someone who has not conducted a case analysis and business plan from scratch, the Strategy Club will be beneficial for walking me through every step of the way in order to structure a strategic and successful plan. In addition, the Strategy Club also offers tools to help me develop the strategic thinking skills necessary to formulate better decisions and help with problem-solving.
In addition to the Strategy Club, the GCU library will also be beneficial in gathering technological trends and sources of data in order to provide the necessary data and facts to back decisions in the CLC company. Here, I will be able to find a variety of up-to-date scholarly articles and real industry reports that will provide evidence for the strategic recommendations made by myself and my group. These real reports and papers will help to gather the factual data needed for the decision-making process and allow us the tools needed to understand how various trends affect our company. With that being said, in the GCU library, industry reports are something I will be sure to look out for to use in our project. Industry reports show us real industry trends, demographics, forecasts, and strategies real businesses use to build their business framework and how they combat various different problems. This data will also help us with mitigating risk, forecasting, decision-making, market entry strategies, product development, and all the tools needed to create a solid foundation.
