The cereal sample without adding complexing agent was used as blank when measuring cereal sample. Why cannot we use DI water?

A. Otherwise the %T will be over 100%
B. Since cereal sample may have other materials other than Fe that absorbs light. Using cereal sample as the blank can eliminate these absorption so that the transmittance was solely due to Fe.
C. Since DI water may dilute the sample, which introduces unnecessary experimental errors.
D. None of them are reasonable explanations.
