A student was preparing to recrystallize a solid using mixed-solvent recrystallization. He planned to dissolve the sample in boiling methanol, and then add hot pentane to induce crystallization. the instructor told the student thay adding a non-polar solvent was a goog idea,but that pentane would be a very poor choice.

a- why would pentane be a poor solvent to use in this experiment?

b- suggest a good solvent to use insted of pentane.
