One of DotCom's products has a width dimensional specification of 1.488 ± .005 inches. The process is in statistical control and the dimension is known to be normally distributed with mean μ=1.491 and standard deviation σ=0.004. The plan is to recenter the process so that the mean equals the target value. Evaluate this plan by comparing the fall out before recentering and after recentering. Fall out is the fraction of products that don't fall within specs.

Draw a sketch of the standard normal distribution curves, one for the current process and another one for the recentered process. Label the spec limits and shade the area of the curve that corresponds to your answer.
