i) Erikson's theory

• Highlight his view of the nature of identity, the development of identity through stages.
• The development of ego identity in adolescene and various possible outcomes of identity development at this stage.
• Also go over Marcia's four identity statuses and the method he used.

ii) Tajfel's conception of identity

• Make clear the noting of the development of a person's social identity through the process of self-categorization,
• The method used in examining the consequences of self-categorization.
• The motive behind developing a social identity.
• How an individual may enhance the positivity of his or her social identity.

iii) Social constructionists and evolutionary psychologists

• Highlight the perspective on identity, outline the key aspects of this view, such as, among others, active construction of identity through social relations, reflection on our identities, dynamic and provisional nature, identities as resources for negotiation, and the focus of the kind of methods employed.

iv) Pinpoint their main differences of the Erikson's theory, Tajfel's conception of identity, social constructionists and evolutionary psychologists.

4. Highlight the attributes that are developed through evolution (i.e., theory of mind and the tendencies to compete and cooperate with others) and their relevance to identity. Coverage of the views/theories should take up about
