Mark set out to open a coffee shop that would double as a small music venue. He quit his job and used his savings to start renovating a small building that he had rented. During the renovation, Mark realized that he would have to completely reconfigure the space to pass inspection as a commercial kitchen. His original plan was to finish the renovation and open the coffee shop within three months so that he could rely on sales revenues to sustain the business and himself.
