A large lot of computer chips (2000 chips) is tested to determine if the lot is acceptable. The testing procedure is the following. A sample of 50 chips is randomly selected from the lot. If the number of defective chips in the sample is less than 5, then the lot is accepted. Otherwise, it is rejected. a) For different values of p, the defective rate of the lot, compute the probability that the lot is accepted. Let p vary from 0.02 to 0.20 in increments of 0.02. b) Sketch the graph of the probabilities of the lot acceptance as the p value varies from 0.02 to 0.20.
