James is sitting in the middle of a local park. It contains a baseball diamond, a soccer field and around the perimeter, picnic tables and barbecue pits. There are about 100 people in the park. 30 are in and around the baseball diamond, another 30 on or around the soccer field and the rest at the picnic tables. James is sitting between the diamond and the soccer field. He is playing with a hand grenade, a real hand grenade. He is playing catch with the grenade. As a result, the safety pin is loosening and is about to drop out. If the grenade explodes everyone within 20 yards will be injured.
