Requirements (The objective is “An analysis of the changes in recorded crime via authority over time”.)

Assignment is on the analysis of recorded crime by local authority district. For this assignment you will need the data file for recorded crimes for local authority district which will be e-mailed to you.

You are required to write a report on:

  "An analysis of the changes in recorded crime via authority over time"

This is to be based on a single variate analysis of the data provided, and its focus is on the interpretation of the output of the various charts/tables/statistical tests you choose to utilise. Clearly you must provide a rationale for such an analysis.

Note you do not have to provide any analysis on the reasons for why these changes have occurred

The data is available for five different types of crimes namely Violence against the Person, Burglary, Offences against vehicles, Criminal Damage, Drug offences. Initially graphical comparison of different types of crimes over two given periods is made. It indicates slight changes in reported crimes over time.
