Part 1: Scope statement
• While writing your scope statement, use clear, specific, culturally appropriate language to articulate any complex ideas, issues and concepts.
• State who your project sponsor is.
• List who is preparing the scope statement (you).
• Write the date.
• Clarify the relationship of your project to other organisational projects and objectives.
• Identify your project objective in terms of the product, service, result.
• Identify key deliverables in terms of features and functions, if applicable.
• List project constraints in terms of time, quality, business, budget, resources and risks.
• List project assumptions so you're aware of them.
• Confirm your administrative structure for project management, including the reporting hierarchy. You can describe in words, a chart or both.
• Confirm the people involved in the project, including their roles and responsibilities/work packages from your WBS.
