The Earth receives radiation from the Sun at the top of the atmosphere with a spectrum that resembles a blackbody emitter at a temperature of nearly 6000 K, although the temperature inside the Sun is about 15 million K. Explain why? If the Earth was in fact receiving radiation from a 15 million K blackbody radiator, what would be the peak wavelength of emission in m unit? Express your answer in scientific notation with two decimal places.
