An environmental agency is concerned that construction near a creek may have effected the levels of a certain chemical in the creek. Historically, the concentration of the chemical in the creek has been 2.3 mg/L. Let x be a random variable representing the concentration of this chemical in the creek. If we know x is normally distributed with σ = 0.30, then test the null hypothesis that µ = 2.3 ml/L using a level of significance of α = 0.1. Sample data has been collected from eight tests performed on the creek water, and is given below: {2.1, 2.5, 2.2, 2.8, 3.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.9}
