Question: Physical Sciences Crude oil pumped from ocean wells contains salt that must be removed before the oil is refined. Otherwise, equipment would erode quickly. Independent random samples of unrefined crude oil from two ocean wells were obtained, and the percentage of salt in each sample was recorded. The data are given in the following table.

a. Conduct the appropriate test to determine whether there is evidence of any difference in variability of salt content between these two wells. Use a = 0.10 and assume normality.

b. Use Table VII in the Appendix to find bounds on the p value for this hypothesis test. Use technology to find an exact p value.
