There is nothing worse than a toxic employee. Employees are the face of the company, they are the ones who work with the customers, they are the ones who get the day to day operations done. Employees are important and when they are toxic, they will affect the entire company. In this situation, the toxic employee felt as if she could do whatever she wanted since she had such a high sales production. Higher ups were too scared to confront her due to this fact. However, it is good that she was let go. Even though the company did struggle for a while, the company was better off in the end.
In the past, my workplace did have a negative employee. There was an employee that did not take criticism well. The employee was immature and had a lot of marriage problems. The employee was lazy and it affected everyone. The person would constantly ask for help and get their coworker to do their job for them. This employee was eventually let go. This employee caused a lot of problems to the company. After the employee was let go, the company did struggle for a while, but eventually, someone was hired to replace the employee and company did a lot better due to it. Even though the employee was causing more harm than good to the organization, the employee was let go lovingly and quietly.
Negative and toxic employees are a huge problem and need to be weeded out. Sometimes a toxic employee is due to the result of bad leadership, but other times, it is because the person already had problems, but they bring it to work.
