John, 5 months old, has respiratory distress, hypoxia, and fever. In ER, her SaO2 was 78% on RA, and he was placed on 1.5 L/min oxygen. He is diagnosed with RSV. When admitted to the floor, he was fussy and crying; chest retractions were noted. VS are 38.4 oC, 188, 40, 90/50, SaO2 was 88% on oxygen. The physiotherapist is waiting to see john. As an admitting nurse, you have not completed the admission procedure yet and the physiotherapist is in a hurry to complete his assessments. As time progresses, the patient's saturation is dropping.
