Project Objectives:

To identify the components of a Best Practice program dealing with a particular correctional issue (Correctional issues provided below).

To research correctional systems to determine is a Best Practice program for the identified issue exists.

To synthesize program elements and structures to provide the basis for a program considered to be best practices.

Assignment;

Using the issue identified in Project 1 (REENTRY) determine the program elements required to designate a correctional program as exemplary. What constitutes a Best Practice?

Research the field of Corrections, correctional journals, correctional periodicals, various departments of correction, and other resources to determine if there is an exemplary program for the topic selected.

Write a report on your findings providing a description of the exemplary program (if it exists), the elements that lead to the success of the program, and the program structure and design that provide for an effective and successful correction program.

If it is your determination that no such best practice program exists, select an existing program and discuss what changes to the program are necessary to make it a best practice.

The report should include a minimum of two outside sources (not including course instructional materials).
