Question: Summary Paper - Accounting and Auditing Practices

As indicated in Week 3, your Summary Paper - Accounting and Auditing Practices assignment is due this week.

For this assignment, you will conduct an interview with your principal or other designee to determine which improvements have been made in accounting and auditing practices in your district during the last five years, as your text suggests.

Submit a one- to two-page paper that summarizes the interview that you conduct. Be sure to note the person you interviewed (you do not have to include a name, but you should include the position the person holds and what the responsibilities are that are associated with this position).

Please note the special guidelines below:

The Interview Summary will look different than the summaries you have previously submitted, which have been based on readings. For the Interview Summary,

1. You will not need a reference page;

2. You won't need to worry about citations within your writing;

3. The cover page will look like other summary cover pages;

4. On the first page of your summary AFTER the title but BEFORE the summary begins, include the following:

Interviewee(s): (could be Principal's name and/or financial secretary's name)

Interviewer: Your name

Interview Date(s):

Location: (school office [preferred] or by telephone)

Time: (start & stop times)

Then, you start typing your interview summary (question[s] asked followed by response[s]).

5. Regular scoring categories apply (introduction, organization, conventions, quality, and conclusion).

6. You may want to the interviewee(s) if he/she dealt with a situation like the one in our discussion for the week (6th grade field trip) and how it was handled. This can be part of your interview summary.
