Video Analysis Harvest of Empire: Untold History of Latinos in the U.S.

This Documentary discusses the history of Latinos in the U.S. as it relates to immigration. Documentarians and author/journalist Juan Gonzalez show how the U.S.'s colonial relationship with certain Latin American countries spurred immigration from those countries to the U.S. Consider an important statement/notion raised Juan Gonzalez, "The Harvest of the Empire is that all of the people of the former colonial nations are coming to the Metropolis or the Colonial powers that use to dominate them" (Harvest of Empire, 1:32:41).

In advancing this idea/argument, Gonzalez is claiming that major migration of people from colonial states (former/current) is a consequence of colonialism. Do you agree with this claim?
