A manager faces many different types of challenges related to their employees each day. Assume that you are a manager for this company. Choose two specific jobs (sales, customer service, technical person, etc.) and envision what that “perfect” employee would look like from a personality and behavioral perspective. Next, using the Figure entitled “The Big Five Model of Personality” in your text book, indicate the most preferable level for each trait for two different employees. Be sure to indicate what those employees do for the company (sales, technical person, customer service, etc.) and why those personality traits would be best for those positions.
Now assume that one the employees at your chosen company has started missing regular staff meetings, has become more introverted and you have noticed their sales numbers have decreased. Explore what types of behaviors could be contributing factors. If you were their manager, what are some ways you could attempt with the employee to improve their performance and behavior at work.
