WALMART -- Store Manager
Create an analysis of your chosen industry, company, and position as they relate to your “ADDING VALUE” to the company.
Use the company and position YOU selected in your immediate career path.
Keep it realistic but you may be slightly creative.
Use the now expanded data originally gathered in previous chapters and exercisesplus additional analysis of your “target” position, company, and industry. This isMUCH MORE than you did for your class assignments.
In YOUR OWN WORDS and in MS Word format, write a detailed description of your analysis.
Include the name of the position, company, and industry.
You should include UPDATED and expanded versions of some of your assignments.
I am looking for QUALITY, not QUANTITY. But I doubt you can fit this description into only 300 words.
AFTER the 300 + words, include a personal To-Do list going from NOW throughyour first year of professional employment.
Grade (analyze) your analysis (as compared to that of your competition) using the items below (use a 1 – 5 scale where 1=poor, 5=great). Most of you will NOT earn a 5! So what are you going to do about it?:
How well did you meet the assignment requirements?
How many of the theories, concepts, procedures, and tools discussed in the course did you USE?
How well did you demonstrate your APPLICATION of the “management practices” presented in this course?
How well did you demonstrate your analysis of the industry?
How well did you demonstrate your analysis of the company?
How well did you demonstrate your analysis of the position?
How well did you demonstrate your IDENTIFICATION of what would help you and the company succeed?
How well did you demonstrate your analysis of your VALUE in DELIVERING the management skills?
How well did you convince ME that you understand the foundations of management?
Complete your poster board display to demonstrate your ability to: Identify, measure, and manage the course material in a REAL position at a REAL company.
The posters should include REFINED brands, mission statements, strategies, a basic plan as shown on your To-Do list and expanded Gantt chart plus examples of appropriate management skills.
