Introduction

Study the assigned chapters and apply the main concepts of the readings to the healthcare environment by answering the following critical thinking questions. Such concepts may require additional research as the industry is constantly evolving.

Activity Instructions

Answer the following questions in an essay format (at least 100 words per answer) with answers supported by the textbook, prevailing literature, and learner opinions where appropriate.

1. Review chapter one. List and describe the three primary types of ownership of a community hospital. Describe each and analyze their implications. In which type of organization would you feel most comfortable working and why?

2. Review chapter 2. List and describe the many types of stakeholders for a healthcare organization. What roles do they have in a given community and how do they inter-react?

3. Review chapter 3. Define organizational governance in a healthcare organization. Are there different types of governance? If so, define each. Present and explain any personal experiences working under certain management and governance models.
