The mean area of several thousand apartments in a new development is advertised to be 1250 sq. ft. An engineer measured a random sample of apartments:

1244 1245 1242 1245 1237 1245 1246 1232
1247 1245 1240 1234 1244 1243 1234 1238

The apartments sizes in the development vary Normally with o = 5 sq. ft. Is there good reason to believe that the mean is less than 1250 sq. ft? Why?
