Quantitative Article Analysis Worksheet

Analyze and critique a quantitative nursing research article from a nursing research journal published within the past 5 years. Include 3 scholarly references-the article, the text, and one outside source. Use the Guidelines for Quantitative Nursing Research Critique to complete the following steps:

1. State the purpose of the study and identify the problem.

The purpose of this study is to recognize the most important causes of stress for the students who are practicing nursing and the development of the stressors when learning the capabilities of becoming a nurse (Pulido-Martos, Augusto-Landa, & Lopez-Zafra, 2012).

2. Analyze the literature review.

The amounts of stress are much greater for healthcare specialists compared to other specific employees. A much greater amount of stressors with harmful health effects are current, particularly with individuals who are connected with healthcare workers. Stress is related to a psychosocial aspect that affects the intellectual functioning and well-being of the individuals. The concern in studying causes of stress in them is caused by the affect that their training time may have on the students' opinions of stress on their potential job.

3. Analyze the study framework or theoretical perspective.

In the journal analysis, the authors has given theoretical support from 86 peer-reviewed articles (out of 784) to meet the goals and decisive factors of the methodical review and to give information on the topic of research.

4. Identify, describe, and critique for appropriateness any research objectives, questions, or hypothesis.

The article contains cross-sectional researches with certain students from one educational class, cross-sectional researches evaluating several academic classes and longitudinal researches that contain the development of the causes of stress for the identical individuals across separate academic classes. An additional specific objective is to examine circumstances and stressors completely associated with the behavior of clinical procedure as part of the nursing students practicing their skills. Finally, certain that several of the studies examined evaluate amounts and causes of stress in experiments of nursing students from various learning methods.
