Currently, many companies provide work gloves make of cotton with leather palms. These are inexpensive and usually don't come in sizes. They provide a degree of safety to the hands, but because they fit poorly, can be a hazard in certain circumstances.

Some companies are looking to change to the new hybrid gloves, like Mechanix, that are a combination of leather and spandex that fit snug and have a velcro closure. The cost of these new gloves starts at $10. The old cotton gloves run around $3.00. The mechanix gloves have been shown to be better taken care of and last 5 times longer than the cotton gloves.

Considering the difference in cost, if we supply 2 pair a year of the mechanix gloves versus 12 pair of the cotton gloves when would we break even?
