1. Prepare a report that describes the establishment of a new service organization that will employ at least 8 people, and develop a supporting Human Resource Management strategy (components of the strategy identified below). The organization must be one of the following (choose one): a music store, pharmacy, camera shop, travel agency or landscaping company.
2. Describe the planned operation: its location (it should be in Courtenay), what the facility looks like, the nature of the product/service, number of staff, etc. Limit this part of the report to about 2 or 3 pages.
3. Beyond those 2 or 3 pages, describe the necessary roles/jobs and the related knowledge, skills and abilities needed in your organization.
4. Develop a resource planning, and recruitment and selection approach to fill these jobs.
5. Develop an orientation, training and development plan.
6. Develop an approach that you can use to evaluate the performance of your staff.
7. Develop a compensation plan for your staff.
8. Develop a plan to provide for a safe and healthy work environment.
