Topic: Operation Management
This assignment will put you in the role of a manufacturing plant management team and will allow you to put into practice the information you learned during class. The assignment will consist of a continuous simulation of a factory where you can intervene at any time to make decisions about capacity and inventory.
Instructions
The simulation will run from the first to the last day of class. Instructions on access to the simulation and how to operate it will be posted on Blackboard before the end of the course. After completing the simulation, you will turn in a short report (max 1000 words of text plus Appendix) in which you will discuss your choices and your insights (e.g., what you think you did well or what mistakes did you make, and how the material from class relates to your successes and/or mistakes).
The report should include at least the following sections:
Students are required to self-form into groups of 5-6. Smaller groups are permitted where NECESSARY. However, allowances will not be made for small groups when grading the assignment.
