A study reported on 6 patients with chronic myofascial pain syndrome. The mean duration of pain had been 3 years for the 6 patients and the standard deviation had been 0.5 year. Test the hypothesis that the mean pain duration of all patients who might have been selected for this study was greater than 2.5 years. Use α = 0.05. Assume that the sample is a random sample, normally distributed with no outliers.
a. What test should be used? b. Write your hypotheses, in symbols c. Provide a numerical value of chosen test and p-value d. Based on the obtained result, which hypotheses must be accepted at given significance level?
Additional information-
